Thought of the Week: Pesach - 5779

ETERNAL IMPRESSION

One of my earliest childhood memories is that of my older brother grabbing a wrapped piece of matzah from the table and hiding it under the sofa, while motioning to me to be silent.

For many children, the Seder Night is the beginning of the journey of Jewish identity.  The impressions made on a youngster’s psyche are indeed for life.  As parents, or grandparents, we have the responsibility of being mindful of the significance of the child's experience and utilizing it fully.

We are all familiar with the saying: "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.”  The Seder Night is an opportunity for us to do our part in securing a chain that connects us and future generations to a story that has inspired humanity for thousands of years.

Our rabbis have taught: "In Nissan the Jews were redeemed, and in Nissan they are destined to be redeemed again.”  May we merit indeed to see the redemption in our days.

On behalf of Miriam and the kids, we would like to wish all a Chag Kasher V’sameach and a wonderful Yom Tov.

Shabbat Shalom, Chag Sameach
